“LUNG-TREE-HEART SCREAM”

1989 Charcoal on paper.

The concept of the lungs being akin to the tree of life for mankind, the power house of breath.  It was first used by Stimson in the depictions of Guy Nelson and Angela in 1975 and in many other artworks.   In “Lung-Tree-Heart Scream”   distress is caused to the lungs by pollution and it implies if mankind continues to cut down all the trees there will be not enough oxygen to supply our own tree of life which is already much depleted.
